ROOM//NOIR 005: Afterimage features model Lee Von Lux through a series of layered portraits that feel more like memory than documentation.
Deep blues, burning orange, muted reds, film grain, and repeated frames pull the original photography apart and let different versions of the same presence exist at once. Lee moves through the composition as if we are catching glimpses from different moments: reclining, posing, disappearing, returning.
At the center, her name sits inside another image of herself, almost like a photograph within a photograph.
The rough texture and shifted colors give Afterimage the feeling of an old television broadcast, damaged film, or a memory that has been replayed enough times that the details have started changing.
It is less about one perfect portrait and more about what remains after we look away.
Photography turned into memory. Memory turned into design.
Printed at 16 × 20 inches on Premium Luster Photo Paper, allowing the saturated orange, deep blue tones, grain, and layered photographic details to retain their richness and contrast.
